Heart Healthy Lifestyles Class Summary

Have you been told by your medical professional that you have dyslipidemia, also known as high cholesterol/triglycerides? Having dyslipidemia can increase your risk for heart disease, however there are things that you can do to help prevent this from happening.  By attending this introductory session you will gain a better understanding of what dyslipidemia is, how to manage your cholesterol, and what diet and lifestyle changes you can make to improve your cardiovascular health.  This 1.5 hour information session is taught by a Barrie and Community Family Health Team Registered Dietitian.

What will I learn during this session?

During this session, you will learn more about your blood work, risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease as well as the different types of dietary fats and fibre and how they affect your blood levels.
