Prenatal and Well Baby
Who We Are
The Prenatal and Well Baby (PNWB) Program provides prenatal care for pregnant persons up until age 28 weeks gestation and well baby care for children up to the age of 6 years, who do NOT have a primary care provider in the Barrie area. The program was initiated in response to an identified community need to improve access to prenatal and well baby care in our community for those who do not have a primary care provider. Our goal is to improve health outcomes for these individuals by providing health care, education as well as referrals and links to community supports, as appropriate.
Breastfeeding services are provided by a Lactation Consultant within the PNWB program: BREASTFEEDING SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE TO ALL RESIDENTS OF BARRIE AND AREA.

Your appointment within the PNWB Program may include:
- Routine Prenatal Care (initial and follow-up appointments, up to 28 weeks gestation)
- Newborn care
- Well Baby Check-ups, including Immunizations Breastfeeding information and support
- Breastfeeding information and support
- A support person is welcome and encouraged to attend
- Please ensure baby is hungry and ready to feed at time of appointment
- Links to Community Supports, as needed
- Information Sessions (see below)
