Sensory Support Group for Parents and Caregivers – School Success Program (SSP)

Welcome to our Sensory Support Group, a safe, nurturing space where parents and caregivers can find answers, support, and community. If you’ve noticed your child struggling with sensory sensitivities or emotional regulation, you’re not alone on this journey.

These 45-60 minute virtual information sessions are led by a Barrie and Community Family Health Team Occupational Therapist. Guest speakers will attend as appropriate.

What will I learn during these sessions?

By attending these sessions you will learn about:

  • Understanding sensory processing fundamentals
  • Connections between sensory challenges and behavior
  • Practical emotional regulation strategies for home
  • Personalized support through Q&A session

 

Who can attend?

Parents/caregivers in Simcoe County and surrounding areas supporting children with sensory sensitivities, regulation difficulties, or neurodivergent conditions (ADHD, autism, etc.). These sessions are not designed for children with sensory sensitivities, but for their parents/caregivers. *Teachers and clinicians are also welcome to attend.
