Prenatal Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding Information Session

Prenatal Breast/Chestfeeding Session, ‘Right from the Start’ (Before your baby is born)

This 1.5-hour session is for expectant mothers (ideally after the second trimester), including those who have struggled with past feeding experiences. Your support person is welcome and encouraged to attend.

 

What will I learn in this information session?

This welcoming and interactive session focuses on the benefits of breast/chestfeeding and how to ensure your experience gets off to the right start for you and your baby. The following topics will taught be an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant who possesses specific education and knowledge in prenatal education and breastfeeding/chestfeeding:

  • The benefits of breast/chestfeeding for you and your baby
  • How to breast/chestfeed (including positioning and latching)
  • How to establish a good milk supply
  • How to know if your baby is getting enough milk
  • When and where to seek help with breast/chestfeeding, should you need it

 

Who can attend?

This informative session is available to all of our community and the surrounding areas. A support person is welcome to attend.

Class Availability

This class is held one Wednesday a month. For additional information please contact your Family Physician or Nurse Practitioner, or a member of the Prenatal Well Baby Clinic at 705-721-0370 ext. 4.
