Managing Diabetes Information Session

Has your doctor informed you that your blood sugars are high and that you have diabetes? Perhaps you’re surprised and concerned by this diagnosis.

Or have you lived with diabetes for some time and need some help getting your blood sugars under control?

This 2-hour information session offers direction on how changes made to your diet and lifestyle can help manage your diabetes. It is taught by a Barrie and Community Family Health Team Registered Dietitian who is also certified as a Diabetes Educator

What will I learn during this session?

By attending this introductory session, you will gain a better understanding of what diabetes is and what diet and lifestyle changes you can make to manage your blood sugars and improve your overall health.

Who can attend?

Any patient belonging to the Barrie and Community Family Health Team who has diabetes or who has been advised by their Physician or Nurse Practitioner that they have elevated blood sugars is welcome to attend this information session.

How do I register?

If you wish to attend this class, please request a referral to our Diabetes Program from your Barrie and Community Family Health Team Physician or Nurse Practitioner. If a referral for you to attend has already been sent, our administrative staff will contact you shortly.
