What will I learn during this Information Session?
Food and Diabetes 101 is a self-management session facilitated by a Registered Dietitian Diabetes Educator and is designed specifically for:
- People with diabetes
- Friends and families that support others living with diabetes
During this session, participants will learn:
- What foods to eat with diabetes
- How to have meal balance
- How to choose the right carbohydrates for you
Who can attend?
This session is open to patients of the Family Health Team and they are encouraged to bring along significant others who are also involved in their eating routines. Please let us know if you will be bringing an additional person for seating estimates.
How do I register?
If you belong to the Barrie and Community Family Health Team call (705)721-0370 x3 and speak with one of our Administrative Assistants. They will let you know the date, time and location of the next available session. You can also ask your health professional (MD, NP, RN, Pharmacist, RD) at your next appointment to refer you to the program.
Classes run based on demand. Times vary.
