Bone Health & Fracture Prevention
A 2 hour, interactive group session focusing on how to improve your bone health and prevent fractures. The sessions are led by a Registered Dietitian, Pharmacist and a Member of Osteoporosis Canada.
What will I learn during this Information Session?
Topics that will be covered include:
- What is Osteoporosis? How does osteoporosis put me at risk for a fracture?
- Why Exercise is Important
- Nutrition and Diet
- Medications and Supplements
- Goal Setting and Self Management
Who can attend?
Any patient belonging to the Barrie and Community Family Health Team is welcome to attend this information session.
How do I register?
If your Family Physician or Nurse Practitioner has already sent a referral for this program, an Administrative Assistant associated with the Dietitian Services will contact you shortly. Otherwise, you can register online by clicking Register Now or by calling tact 705-721-0370 x 2907 and speaking with one of our Administrative Assistants. They will let you know the date, time, and location of the next available session. You can also ask your health professional (MD, NP, RN, Pharmacist, RD) at your next appointment to refer you to the program.
Classes are run every 2 to 3 months, depending on volume. Our Administrative Team will provide you with the date and time of the next session, or see below.
