Prediabetes Class Summary

Has your doctor informed you that your blood sugars are high or that you have prediabetes?

Prediabetes is a condition in which your blood sugars are elevated but are not yet within the range for a diabetes diagnosis. Hearing that your blood sugars are elevated can be surprising and can feel concerning, but there are changes that you can make now to help prevent diabetes.

This 1.5 hour information session is taught by a Barrie and Community Family Health Team Registered Dietitian.

What will I learn during this session?

By attending this introductory session you will gain a better understanding of what prediabetes is and what diet and lifestyle changes you can make to manage your blood sugars, prevent diabetes and improve your overall health.

Who can attend?

Any patient belonging to the Barrie and Community Family Health Team is welcome to attend this information session.

How do I register?

If you wish to attend this class, please request a referral from your Barrie and Community Family Health Team Physician or Nurse Practitioner. If a referral for you to attend has already been sent, our administrative staff will contact you shortly.
